DISCIPLINE
Discipline is essential
to the AWANA program. It is the process of teaching acceptable behavior
and self-control. Discipline begins with the opening ceremony and is
part of every aspect of club. The following will be implemented in
AWANA:
- THE FIVE COUNT:
The person in charge begins to count to five slowly and loudly
enough to be heard. Leaders set the example and encourage
clubbers to apply. Clubbers are to line up straight and silently
on their team lines or sit quietly in their seats.
- THE
THREE COUNT: Our leaders will use the three-count when a
clubber is deliberately misbehaving or distracting other
clubbers. When a child receives a one, this is a warning. If a
child receives a two, he is spoken to by the director and
notified of what will happen if misbehavior continues. If a
clubber misbehaves a third time, the Director or Commander will
have a meeting with the parents and ask that clubber only return
if he or she can behave appropriately.
